Diamonds

Not nessarily my sound....

... but the lyrics are ok. And a friend of mine who is going through a nasy separation gets always to his happy place when he listen to the song. So there it goes, Nobby.... :o)

David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium

You shout it out, but I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud, not saying much
I'm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

Cut me down, but it's you who had further to fall
Ghost town, haunted love, Raise your voice
Sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud, not saying much

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

Stone-hard, machine guns, firing at the ones who run
Stone-hard, those bulletproof guns

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

I had this posted before....

....but its so beautiful, so here it goes again. Have a good and safe weekend. And call your parents if they are still around. I am sure they'd appreciate a call.

The Kanyu Tree - Shelf Life

The Kanyu Tree - Slow

I'd never join a club....

...that would have me as a member…”
Groucho Marx

As that may be, there is one club we all will join sooner or later. In Memoriam of all the ones who went before me, and I'll join when my time is up.

Into the Wild

when I saw the movie in the cinema in 2007 what really got me was, that when Chris left his old life it was around the same time when I had finished school and wanted to go elsewhere. Made me realize when I watched it how lucky I was considering that he paid the ultimate price for his freedom. What is it anyways? Having said that, I shouldnt put up any links for watching it online, you really should see it in a cinema. Alaska just doesnt work on a TV screen (even the kickass 42 inch widescreen ones). Nope, a big cinema screen is just about right. Well, just about, because nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, beats Alaska for real. Whoever has been there will agree!

Driving, driving, driving...

... didnt remember where we came from and didnt know where we were going. We didnt think that there is a life outside "home". What the hell is "home" anyways. Ah bless the youth... Wonder we came out of it (relatively) unscathed and alive. Must have been a legion of guardian angels looking after us.

Is on the busride that meanders...
And Tomorrow brings another train....
And no, I dont owe anything to the rainswept plains...

New Model Army - Green And Grey

The time I think most clearly
The time I drift away
Is on the busride that meanders
Up these valleys of green and grey
I get to think about what might have been
And what may yet come true
And I get to pass a rainy mile
Thinking of you

And all the while, all the while
I still hear that call
To the land of gold and poison
That beckons to us all

Nothing changes here very much
I guess you'd say it never will
The pubs are all full on Friday nights
And things get started still
We spent hours last week with Billy boy
Bleeding, yeah queueing in casualty
Staring at those posters we used to laugh
at Never never land, palm trees by the sea

Well there was no need for those guys
To hurt him so bad
When all they had to do
Was knock him down
But no one asks to many questions like that anymore
Since you left this town

CHORUS:
And tomorrow brings another train
Another young brave steals away
But you're the one I remember
From these valleys of green and the grey

You used to talk about winners and losers
All the time - as if that was all there was
As if we were not of the same blood family
As if we live by different laws
Do you owe so much less to these
Rain swept hills
Than you owe to your good self
Is it true that the world has always got
To be something that always seems
To happen - somewhere else
For God's sake don't you realise
That I still hear that call
Do you think you're so brave
Just to go running
To that wicked beckons to us all

CHORUS:And tomorrow brings another train
Another young brave ...

No, not for one secondDid you look behind you
As you were walking away
Never once did you wish any of us well
Those who had chosen to stay
And if that's what it takes to make it
In the place that you live today
Then I guess you'll never read these
Letters that I send From the valleys of the green and the grey

The life we had....

...talking for two friends and myself was EXACTLY like this:

Del Amitri - Nothing Ever Happens

And here is another "dangerous" influence...

...come to think of it, why was that again??? Its a mystery to me now, but what remains are fond memories of a time that was full of potential and possibilities. No dream too outrageous, no road too long. Speaking of roads, this music to me means mostly sitting in a car driving through the night to some party, some disco, some nightclub, some sunrise...

and eventually with no destination at all, just driving. for hours and hours, getting away from everyday life, dreaming of a different life.

The Cure: Lullaby

All this Punk...

... makes me go down Memory Lane. Its more than 20 years now that I was introduced to this kind of sound. Back then I thought: Danger, danger, danger.... :o)

B-52's: Rock Lobster

This one is....

...that bit closer to the middle of the road. Another Danish Punk Band that is been there for a good while and I just found them this evening. and I like it.

 Horrorpops: Miss Take

Halloween is not too far away.

still, this one is maybe that bit too way out, or is it???

Nekromantix: Horny In A Hearse

You cant live on hope alone...

...but without hope you cant live. And another weekend draws to a close. Getting all autmny now...

George Winston - Autumn

recorded on 19th and 20th June 1980 by my favourite Record Label of all times: Windham Hill Records.

Ah, flip this, lets have another song by George Winston that lightens the mood...

Which is much better - Watching the Charlie Brown movies on rainy autumn sundays (and before) christmas was just nice. I remember several Charlie Browns episodes where autumn is the background of the story, but yourself was sitting in a warm sitting room. In that spirit, have a good night and good luck for next week. with or without job, with or without partner, with or without euro.... :o)

P.S.: Linus and Lucy was recorded and released in 1996 for Windham Hill Records (re released in 2008 by Dancing Cat Records) as part of the record "Linus and Lucy: The Music of Vince Guaraldi".

And the ghouls come out to play....

here the remix by Benny Benassi which has the bit more "up" you need....

Florence and The Machine - Shake It Out (Benny Benassi Remix) Full

Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play

And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues strong
It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around

And our love is pastured such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues strong
But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaaah

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
Cause I like to keep my issues strong
It's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

And given half the chance would I take any of it back
It's a final mess but it's left me so empty
It's always darkest before the dawn

Oh woah, oh woah...

And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope
It's a shot in the dark and right at my throat
Cause looking for heaven, for the devil in me
Looking for heaven, for the devil in me
Well what the hell I'm gonna let it happen to me

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh woaaah

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh woah
